Playstyles
Off-Field Support
Kachina uses her Burst and Skill to deal off-field damage and buff the team via 4pc Scroll.
Talents
Level and Talent Priority
Level 90 > Skill > Burst
Leveling Kachina to 90 is a good increase for her Base DEF, but all these levels benefit only her lackluster damage, not her supportive abilities. Kachina does not need to level her Normal Attacks.
Talent Overview
Normal Attack | Cragbiter
Talent Description
Normal Attack
Performs up to 4 consecutive spear strikes.
Charged Attack
Consumes a certain amount of Stamina to lunge forward, dealing damage to opponents along the way.
Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact.
A standard string of 4 consecutive polearm attacks that do not need to be leveled.
Elemental Skill | Go, Go Turbo Twirly!
Talent Description
Fight alongside the turbo trusty Turbo Twirly!
Summons Turbo Twirly. When the skill is Held and released, Kachina will summon and ride Turbo Twirly.
After the Skill is used, Kachina will gain 60 Nightsoul points and enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state.
Nightsoul’s Blessing: Kachina
Turbo Twirly’s various actions consume Kachina’s Nightsoul points.
The Nightsoul’s Blessing state will end when these points have been depleted.
Turbo Twirly
Can exist independently or be ridden and operated by Kachina. When Turbo Twirly is present, Kachina’s Elemental Skill, “Go, Go Turbo Twirly!”, will change to an option to Mount/Dismount Turbo Twirly.
- When present independent of Kachina, it will slam the ground at intervals, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG based on Kachina’s DEF.
- When Kachina is riding Turbo Twirly, she can control it to move and climb swiftly, and use Normal Attacks to slam the ground, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG based on Kachina’s DEF.
Turbo Twirly will disappear once Kachina’s Nightsoul’s Blessing state ends, and it is considered a Geo Construct. 1 Turbo Twirly can exist on the field at any one time.
Kachina summons her Turbo Twirly, which she can choose to mount or let it act independently. After casting her Skill, Kachina gains 60 Nightsoul points, which will be drained by each action Turbo Twirly takes, including moving, jumping, and attacking. If unmounted, Turbo Twirly will attack 6 times per Elemental Skill cast.
After using her Elemental Skill, Skill inputs will allow Kachina to mount or dismount Turbo Twirly. If Kachina Holds her Skill on cast, then she will mount Turbo Twirly immediately. While mounted on Turbo Twirly, Kachina has greatly increased running and climbing speed. If she uses a Normal Attack, Turbo Twirly will attack the ground once. If Kachina dismounts Turbo Twirly, Turbo Twirly will independently attack the ground once every 2 seconds. Although Turbo Twirly does more damage if Kachina is mounted, the damage increase is not large enough to be worth increasing Kachina’s field time. When unmounted, Turbo Twirly will apply Geo every other attack.
Turbo Twirly is considered a Geo Construct, which enables Chiori to summon an additional Tamoto doll and the Construct itself to resonate with Zhongli’s pillar. Note that Turbo Twirly does not count towards the 3 Geo Construct limit, so it will not be removed if additional Constructs are placed.
Elemental Burst | Time to Get Serious!
Talent Description
Striking the ground, Kachina deals AoE Geo DMG based on her DEF and creates a Turbo Drill Field.
The Field increases Turbo Twirly’s attack AoE and its movement speed when Kachina is riding it.
If Kachina’s own Turbo Twirly is present when this is used, Turbo Twirly will be summoned to her side.
Kachina’s Burst deals a burst of Geo damage and increases the attack AoE and Movement SPD of Turbo Twirly.
Ascension 1 Passive | Mountain Echoes
Talent Description
When nearby party members trigger a Nightsoul Burst, Kachina’s Geo DMG Bonus increases by 20% for 12s.
When Natlan characters are in the team, teammates can trigger Nightsoul Bursts by dealing Elemental damage with a teamwide cooldown of 18/12/9s for 1/2/3 Natlan teammates. This passive grants Kachina 20% Geo DMG when a teammate triggers a Nightsoul Burst. This effect has 66% uptime when Kachina is the only Natlan character and 100% uptime with another Natlan character in her team.
Ascension 4 Passive | The Weight of Stone
Talent Description
Turbo Twirly’s DMG is increased by 20% of Kachina’s DEF.
This passive increases Turbo Twirly’s scaling by 20% DEF.
Night Realm’s Gift | Heart of Unity
Talent Description
After her Nightsoul points are depleted, Kachina will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul’s Blessing.
While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Kachina. When the active character is currently sprinting, climbing, in a movement mode caused by certain Talents, or at a certain height in the air, the following will trigger when switching to Kachina: Kachina will enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and ride Turbo Twirly when taking the field while gaining 30 Nightsoul points. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own team.
Additionally, while in Natlan, Kachina will consume 90% less Stamina when climbing while riding Turbo Twirly.
Night Realm’s Gift is a new special Passive for Natlan characters that increases their exploration QoL. After consuming all her Nightsoul points, Kachina will start consuming Phlogiston instead of exiting her mounting state, essentially gaining a special second stamina bar.
Additionally, when swapping to Kachina in an area with Phlogiston mechanics, she will gain 30 Nightsoul Points and start riding Turbo Twirly. This can happen at most once every 10 seconds.
Kachina will also consume 90% less Stamina while riding Turbo Twirly when climbing in Natlan.
Utility Passive | Boon of Crystal Flame
Talent Description
While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, 20 Stamina will be restored when interacting with some harvestable items. Additionally, the location of nearby resources unique to Natlan will appear on your mini-map.
Kachina reveals Natlan Local Specialities for all areas with Phlogiston and restores 20 Stamina each time she collects a Local Specialty.
Constellations
Constellation 1 | Shards Are Gems Too
When Kachina mounts or dismounts Turbo Twirly, she will absorb nearby Elemental Shards created by Crystallize.
Additionally, when a party member picks up such a Shard, 3 Energy will be restored to Kachina. Energy can be restored this way once every 5s.
Kachina collects Crystallize Shards when mounting and dismounting Turbo Twirly. She also gains 3 Energy whenever a Crystallize Shard is picked up. This can happen once every 5 seconds.
Constellation 2 | Never Leave Home Without… Turbo Twirly
When Kachina uses “Time to Get Serious!”, she will regain 20 Nightsoul points. If there is no Turbo Twirly belonging to her on the field, she will enter Nightsoul’s Blessing and summon one.
Kachina’s Burst now restores 20 Nightsoul Points if used with a Turbo Twirly on-field, allowing for 2 more hits. If used without a Turbo Twirly on-field, it creates a Turbo Twirly with 20 Nightsoul points. If using Burst right after Skill, the 20 restored Nightsoul points will not be counted as Kachina has a maximum of 60 Nightsoul Points.
This Constellation allows Kachina to alternate Skill and Burst every other rotation while still maintaining full 4pc Scroll uptime. This allows her to run <20s rotations.
Constellation 3 | Improved Stabilizer
Increases the Level of Go, Go Turbo Twirly! by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Increases Kachina’s Skill Talent by 3 levels.
Constellation 4 | More Foes, More Caution
When there are 1/2/3/4 (or more) opponents within the Turbo Drill Field created by “Time to Get Serious!”, the active character within the field gains 8%/12%/16%/20% increased DEF.
This Constellation increases the active character’s DEF based on the amount of enemies in Kachina Burst’s field. A small buff for Noelle or Itto, but otherwise irrelevant.
Constellation 5 | All I’ve Collected Till Now
Increases the Level of Time to Get Serious! by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.
Increases Kachina’s Burst Talent by 3 levels.
Constellation 6 | This Time, I’ve Gotta Win
When your active character’s shield is replaced or destroyed for any reason, Kachina will deal 200% of her DEF as AoE Geo DMG. This effect can be triggered once every 5s.
This Constellation adds an additional proc of Geo damage every time your active character’s shield is broken or replaced. This can be triggered once every 5 seconds. This effect will be triggered when your character picks up a Crystallize Shard. In Double Geo teams, this effect will be triggered consistently.
Artifacts
ER Requirements
Calcs for ER requirements can be found here.
C0 | C0, with Fav | C1 | C1, with Fav | |
Solo Geo, 20 Second Rotation | 280%+ | 210-285% | 235%+ | 190-260% |
Solo Geo, 30 Second Rotation | 200-230% | 155-175% | 165-190% | 140-160% |
Double Geo | 215-265% | 165-195% | 180-220% | 150-180% |
Triple Geo | 180-220% | 140-170% | 150-185% | 130-155% |
Use the Energy Recharge Calculator to determine exact requirements for your team and rotation.
It’s worth noting that Kachina’s Burst is not necessary for her to proc the 4pc Scroll effect. As such, it may not be worth the effort to achieve the ER required to Burst every rotation, especially if it requires significant farming that could otherwise be avoided.
Artifact Stats
Sands | Goblet | Circlet |
DEF% | Geo DMG Bonus | CRIT Rate or CRIT DMG |
Stat Priority: ER% until requirement > DEF% = CRIT
Prioritizing the 4pc Scroll set over optimal stats is worthwhile, as its significant buffs to Kachina’s teammates generally surpass the benefits of focusing on her personal damage.
Artifact Sets
4pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City | This set offers an unmatched 40% teamwide DMG Bonus when triggering a reaction for all Elements involved if the holder is in the Nightsoul Blessing’s state. |
4pc Archaic Petra | This set provides a worse buff than 4pc Scroll with a harder trigger condition. However, another character in Kachina’s team can utilize this set by picking up Kachina’s Crystallize Shards. |
4pc Noblesse Oblige/4pc Tenacity of the Millelith | Both sets provide 20% ATK, a much lower buff than 4pc Archaic Petra or 4pc Scroll. Kachina is able to maintain better uptime on 4pc ToTM than 4pc Noblesse. |
4pc Obsidian Codex | This set is best for Kachina’s personal damage, but supportive sets result in more team damage overall due to Kachina’s lackluster damage. |
Weapons
Favonius Lance | Due to Kachina’s low personal damage, the particles provided by Favonius Lance yield the most utility for her team. |
Footprint of the Rainbow | This craftable weapon provides a large amount of DEF% from its secondary stat and passive, making it the weapon of choice to maximize Kachina’s damage. |
Deathmatch | Both the CRIT Rate secondary stat and DEF% from the passive are useful for Kachina. |
Staff of the Scarlet Sands | This weapon provides a lot of CRIT Rate, but its passive is useless. |
Other CRIT or Energy Recharge weapons | Due to Kachina’s DEF% scaling, weapons with these stats are the only useful weapons for her. |

Generalist Support
Kachina being free means players are given easy access to 4pc Scroll, a great buff available to various Pyro, Hydro, Electro, Cryo, as well as Geo units. Scroll providing DMG% also means it does not need to be re-applied in multi-wave scenarios unlike 4pc Viridescent Venerer.
Notable Teammates
Pyro DPS
Xiangling | Like many other buffs, 4pc Scroll can be snapshotted to increase Xiangling’s damage. |
Arlecchino | Arlecchino appreciates the buff from 4pc Scroll and does not mind the lack of a significant shield. |
Lyney | Kachina with 4pc Scroll provides a great buff at no risk to the Pyro aura. While Lyney appreciates the comfort of a stronger shield, Kachina’s Crystallize shield can still tank a few hits. |
Yoimiya | Yoimiya also appreciates the interruption resistance from a shield. However, depending on if she is triggering Vaporize or not, weaker shields may not be as large of an issue, making it possible for Kachina to join her. |
Hydro DPS
With a considerable lack of buffs available to HP-scaling Hydro DPS units, Kachina’s easy access to 4pc Scroll makes her a potent teammate for such units.
Neuvillette | Kachina can easily proc both 4pc Scroll and Neuvillette’s A1 passive through Crystallize. Aside from the lack of a strong shield, she makes for a potent buffer for Neuvillette. |
Mualani | Kachina can proc 4pc Scroll for Mualani as well as decrease the cooldown on Nightsoul Burst, increasing the stacks of Wavechaser’s Exploits gained. |
Furina | Furina and Kachina both provide DMG% buffs, which may affect the artifact stat preferences of the unit being buffed. It is worth considering running them together, particularly for Hydro units, for whom there isn’t a large variety of buffers. |
Geo Flex
Kachina can form a Double Geo core with these units, lowering their ER requirement and increasing their damage through 4pc Scroll, while providing Geo Resonance for the team.
Chiori | Chiori can take advantage of Kachina’s buff, and Turbo Twirly counts as a Geo Construct, making for solid synergy. |
Albedo | Unlike Chiori, there’s nothing further to add to the synergy between Albedo and Kachina. Nonetheless, his personal damage makes him a reasonable consideration for a Double Geo core. |
Zhongli | Zhongli provides a reliable shield to ensure uptime on Geo Resonance, as well shredding all elemental RES. |
Example Teams
This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.
At C2, Kachina can Burst and Skill every other rotation for a <20s rotation while still maintaining 4pc Scroll. Bennett can hold 4pc Archaic Petra to buff Arlecchino.
Sample Rotation
Arlecchino E > Kachina Q/E > Chiori Q1 EE > Bennett EQ > Arlecchino CA Combo
1Use Chiori’s Burst if available
A comfortable Lyney hypercarry team. At C2, Kachina can Burst and Skill every other rotation for a <20s rotation while still maintaining 4pc Scroll’s effect.
Sample Rotation
Lyney CA/Bennett E1 > Kachina Q/E > Zhongli hED > Bennett EQ > Lyney QE/C2 4[C] E
1First rotation only. Apply Pyro for 4pc Scroll and 4pc Archaic Petra.
2Use Lyney’s Burst if available, otherwise use his charged attack.
Assuming Turbo Twirly hits 6 times, 4pc Scroll will have near 100% uptime. Kachina can use her Burst after Neuvillette’s first field time period to refresh 4pc Scroll’s effect.
Sample Rotation
Neuvillette E N1 > Furina ED > Lynette Q N1 E > Kachina E > Furina Q > Neuvillette C E C Q > Lynette E N1 > Neuvillette N1 2[C]
Sample Rotation
(Mualani N1)1 > Chiori 2[E] > Kachina E/Q > Dehya E > Mualani (Q)2 E combo N1 > (Chiori Q)2
1First rotation only.
2Use Mualani’s Burst if available. If not, use Chiori’s Burst at the end of the rotation.
The rotation below allows Kachina to trigger Electro Crystallize and Kazuha to Swirl Electro. Using Bennett’s Skill will stop this. Build enough ER to use Kachina’s Burst as it stacks Resolve stacks for Raiden.
Sample Rotation
Raiden E > Bennett Q > Kachina QE > Kazuha EQ > Raiden Q Combo
Geo On-Fielder
Kachina provides a Geo DMG% buff via 4pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City, Geo Particles, and some off-field damage for Geo teams.
Notable Teammates
Kachina can provide a 40% Geo DMG Bonus through 4pc Scroll, while also generating consistent Energy with Turbo Twirly and Favonius Lance.
Navia | Since Navia prefers 16-18s rotations, Kachina’s C2 allows her to alternate Skill/Burst while still maintaining the full 4pc Scroll passive. Kachina’s ability to consistently create Crystallize Shards and collect them upon Skill cast is appreciated. |
Noelle | Kachina’s C4 DEF% buff is useful for Noelle. |
Ningguang | Some Ningguang teams have ~15s rotations, which require Kachina to alternate her Skill and Burst. |
Chiori / Albedo | Chiori and Albedo provide off-field damage and Energy. Kachina’s Turbo Twirly counts as a Geo Construct, enabling Chiori to summon 2 dolls with her Skill. Since Albedo’s Skill snapshots, Kachina must trigger 4pc Scroll before he uses his Skill. |
Gorou | Both Kachina and Gorou synergize well with Geo on-field damage dealers, so they may see use in the same team, or they may compete for one slot. |
Example Teams
This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.
A 20s rotation with Navia due to Xiangling’s Burst CD.
Sample Rotation
Bennett E > Xiangling N2 > Kachina QE > Navia Q > Bennett QE > Xiangling QE > Navia 2[E N3D N2]
A full 4-star team. Kachina should trigger Electro Crystallize past the first rotation to buff Oz. Kachina alternates her Skill and Burst; she must be at C2 to provide the full 4pc Scroll buff every rotation.
Sample Rotation
Kachina E/Q > Bennett EQ > Fischl E/Q > Ningguang EQ (E) C > Bennett E > Ningguang 2[N2C]
