Updated for Version 3.2
Kujou Sara is a 4-star Electro Bow character that brings considerable damage and potent buffs after investment. Her buffs are particularly strong in teams that frontload damage and/or are Electro-centric by nature.
More extensive testing is in progress. Note that the information given is subject to change if and when new discoveries are made.
The full-length guide (currently in the process of being updated) is available here.

|Sara can buff Nahida with her kit. Otherwise, they have no clear synergy or noteworthy interaction with each other.|
Burst DPS Buffer
Kujou Sara’s primary role in teams is to act as a potent buffer to complement short duration but high impact skills or skills that snapshot, while concurrently doing considerable Elemental Burst damage.
Skill ≥ Burst > Normal Attack
Leveling Sara’s Normal Attack is not recommended.
Normal Attack | Tengu Bowmanship
Sara’s Normal Attack is fairly unimpressive and can be neglected.
Elemental Skill | Tengu Stormcall
Arguably the most important part of her kit. The higher the Talent level of Sara’s Elemental Skill, the stronger her buff becomes.
Elemental Burst | Subjugation: Koukou Sendou
The bulk of Sara’s damage. The on-field character can be buffed by Sara after being hit by a Stormcluster. While leveling her Elemental Burst does not make her buff stronger, it is still recommended to be leveled to maximize Sara’s damage.
Ascension 1 Passive | Immovable Will
For players without Sara’s C2, this is a consolation and reduces the clunkiness of applying her buff by a significant amount.
Ascension 4 Passive | Decorum
Another QoL passive. Sara is an Energy-hungry character and this passive reduces her ER requirements.
Constellation 1 | Crow’s Eye
Slight Elemental Skill CD reduction translates to being able to apply her buff more often.
Constellation 2 | Dark Wings
Significant QoL Constellation. Players can now buff the on-field character without using a fully-aimed Charged Shot, which significantly reduces the clunkiness of her kit.
Constellation 3 | The War Within
Levels to Sara’s Elemental Burst.
Constellation 4 | Conclusive Proof
Sara’s Elemental Burst now has a bigger AoE, increasing damage and making buffing through her Elemental Burst much easier.
Constellation 5 | Spellsinger
Levels to Sara’s Elemental Skill.
Constellation 6 | Sin of Pride
Sara’s best Constellation that can make gearing the team’s Electro DPS easier. Best utilized in teams that can frontload Electro damage. Alternatively, her buff can be reapplied at every possible opportunity for sustained damage dealers. This Constellation can be extended ever so slightly by hitlag and cannot be snapshotted.
|Burst every rotation with 2 other Electro characters in the team.||~140%-160%|
|Burst every rotation with Raiden.||~180%|
|Burst every rotation in Electro-Charged teams.||~200%|
|Burst every rotation as a solo Electro character.||~230%|
|Electro DMG%||CRIT Rate|
ER% (until requirement) > CRIT Rate = CRIT DMG > ATK% > Flat ATK
4 Emblem of Severed Fate (4 ESF)
|BiS for personal damage.|
4 Noblesse Oblige (4 NO)
|Allows Sara to maximize her buffing capabilities if no one else already has this.|
4 Tenacity of the Millelith (4ToM)
|Allows players to maximize her buffing capabilities if another character already has 4 NO. |
Best used with characters who can snapshot the buff as Sara’s long Elemental Skill cooldown prevents the consistent trigger of the buff this set has.
Any combo of 2 Emblem of Severed Fate (2 ESF)/2 Noblesse Oblige (2 NO)/2 Thundering Fury (2 TF)/2 ATK% (2ATK)
|Pick any two based on whichever has the best substats.|
All 5-star Bows are good options as they come with high base ATK which automatically increases Sara’s buff regardless of whether the passive is of any use to her.
Elegy for the End
|Elegy for the End is Sara’s best buffing weapon if she is able to trigger the passive.|
|Skyward Harp is Sara’s best generalist option, with a passive that increases her own personal damage and an unconditional stronger buff due to a higher weapon base ATK.|
Players should opt to gear Sara with a Bow that has the highest base ATK after giving priority to the team’s Main DPS
|Favonius Warbow can be an exception as it provides a lot of ER% and has team utility that can make Sara much more valuable in a team.|
|Fading Twilight is highly recommended as it is F2P and has everything Sara looks for.|
- Sara should be paired with a DPS that has a quickswap playstyle, has high frontloaded damage or can snapshot buffs.
- Players should pair Sara with another Electro character when possible for best results.
- Sara can be a flex option as her ATK buff is short but universal. In most cases, however, there are better flex options.
Sara shines the most in such teams. She can focus on offensive stats instead of ER% while buffing the team with her C6 on top of her ATK buff to deal large amounts of damage.
Sara has undeniably high synergy with Raiden. They diminish each other’s flaws and deal significant amounts of damage in a short window via Raiden’s Burst, which is buffed by Sara.
Sara is able to buff both the on-field and off-field characters (provided they snapshot buffs), replacing the need for 2 off-field DPSes in a traditional Electro-Charged team. Both the on-field and off-field character can be either Electro or Hydro, provided there is sufficient application to trigger the reaction consistently.
Raiden Shogun, Beidou, Keqing, Fischl, Yae Miko, Lisa
|On-field and off-field Electro DPSes who benefit significantly from Sara’s buffs.|
Kamisato Ayato, Xiangling, Ningguang
|On-field and off-field non-Electro DPSes who benefit significantly from Sara’s buffs.|
|Provide off-field Hydro application.|
|Bennett is a generalist buffer and healer. Gives extremely powerful buffs to the team when paired with Sara.|
Zhongli combines offensive and defensive support via a strong shield, a universal 20% RES shred and ToM buffs.
Venti, Kazuha, Jean, Sucrose
|Provide 40% Elemental RES Shred via Viridescent Venerer and an assortment of other buffs/grouping.|
