Xilonen Quick Guide

Updated for Version 5.4

Xilonen is a 5-star Geo Sword character in Genshin Impact who offers RES Shred via her Elemental Skill and single-target healing from her Elemental Burst. She can also maximize Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City’s 4pc effect to provide a 40% DMG Bonus. Learn about Xilonen’s best builds, best weapons, best artifacts, and best teams in this quick guide.

Note that the information given may change if new discoveries are made. More extensive testing is in progress.

Mavuika
On top of her buffs, Xilonen’s Nightsoul point consumption is extremely valuable for batterying Mavuika’s Burst. She is a potent support for Mavuika’s on-field teams, and they can also form a strong supportive duo together.

Chasca
Chasca’s unique absorption mechanics make her a strong beneficiary for Xilonen’s buffs; however, since Xilonen is not a Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo character, Chasca loses out on her A1 Passive and Burst and Skill infusions before C1 and C2.

Citlali
Even though Citlali and Xilonen can not both hold 4pc Scroll, they are still a strong supportive duo for Pyro and Hydro damage dealers.

Ororon
Since only one character can hold 4pc Scroll on one team, Xilonen will not often run with Ororon.

Yumemizuki Mizuki
While Xilonen’s RES Shred is useful for Mizuki’s Swirls, Xilonen’s lack of off-field PHEC application means they will rarely run together.

Character Overview

Pros

  • Jack of all trades; she heals, she buffs, she looks hot while doing it.
  • Already a great support at C0, but still has plenty of room for vertical investment.
  • Able to provide long-duration buffs that also persist through new enemy waves.
  • Extremely cheap to build with barely any stat requirements.
  • Has a place in nearly any team.

Cons

  • Has no grouping capability, which can be felt when she replaces Kazuha in a team.
  • Similarly, she does not provide interruption resistance at C0, which is noticeable when replacing Zhongli.
  • Has poor personal damage before C6.

Playstyles

Off-Field Support

Xilonen increases her teammates’ damage with her RES Shred and supportive gear like 4pc Scroll. She quickly activates her buffs with minimal field time and casts her Burst when necessary to keep the team alive.

On-Field DPS

At C6, Xilonen becomes a decent on-field DPS. This playstyle is also possible at C0, but is generally unrecommended. As such, this guide focuses solely on her support playstyle.

Stay tuned for Xilonen’s Extended Guide for more info on her on-field playstyle!

Talents

Level and Talent Priority

Skill > Burst >> Character Level

Xilonen’s RES Shred scales with her Skill; leveling it should be prioritized. Her healing scales with her Burst, which should be leveled until her sustain feels comfortable.

Xilonen can be leveled to 90 to further increase her healing and, where applicable, max out her signature weapon’s 3200 DEF cap more easily. This is optional, however: her healing is already comfortable at lower investment, and it is very easy to reach 3200 DEF even at Level 80/90.

Overall, leveling Xilonen to Lv. 90 is a lower priority than upgrading the team’s DPS units.

There is no need to level Xilonen’s Normal Attack Talent unless she is played as an on-field DPS.

Talent Overview

Normal Attack
Normal Attack | Ehecatl’s Roar

Normal Attack
Performs up to 3 rapid strikes.

Charged Attack
Consumes a fixed amount of Stamina and performs a forward kick.

Plunging Attack
Plunges from mid-air to strike the ground below, damaging opponents along the path and dealing AoE DMG upon impact, both based on Xilonen’s DEF.

Nightsoul’s Blessing: Blade Roller
When in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, Xilonen will enter the Blade Roller mode. While in this mode, Xilonen’s Normal Attacks will allow her to perform up to 4 kicks using her roller blades, and she will be unable to use Charged Attacks.
When she uses Normal and Plunging Attacks in this mode, they will switch to being based on her DEF, and she will deal Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG that cannot be overridden.

During her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, Xilonen’s Normal and Plunging Attacks will be converted to Geo DMG and scale with her DEF. This is largely irrelevant until she is C6, as that is when an on-field Xilonen playstyle becomes potent.

Elemental Skill
Elemental Skill | Yohual’s Scratch

Let the rhythms of passion resound throughout the land! Xilonen switches to high-speed combat blading gear and rushes forward a certain distance before dealing Nightsoul-aligned Geo DMG based on her DEF.
After using this, Xilonen will gain 45 Nightsoul points and enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state. In this state, she will shift to the Blade Roller mode.

Source Samples
Xilonen has 3 Samplers with her that can generate different Soundscapes based on her other party members’ Elemental Types, decreasing nearby opponents’ corresponding Elemental RES while active.
The initial recorded Source Sample within each Sampler will be Geo, and for each party member who is Pyro/Hydro/Cryo/Electro, 1 Geo Sampler will change to that corresponding Element.
While Xilonen is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, the Geo Source Sample she carries will always be active. After unlocking her Passive Talent, “Netotiliztli’s Echoes,” Xilonen can trigger said Passive Talent’s effects to regenerate Nightsoul points for herself. When her Nightsoul points hit the maximum, she will consume all her Nightsoul points and activate the 3 Source Samples she has on hand for 15s.
When the Source Samples are active, nearby opponents’ corresponding Elemental RES will decrease. Source Sample effects of the same Elemental Type cannot stack. Xilonen can trigger these effects even when off-field.

Nightsoul’s Blessing: Xilonen
Continuously consume Nightsoul points. When these points are depleted or if used again, this Nightsoul’s Blessing state will end. This state has the following traits:

  • Switches to the Blade Roller mode, increasing Xilonen’s Movement SPD and climbing speed, and she can perform high-speed leaps in Ocelot Form while climbing.
  • Xilonen’s Nightsoul’s Blessing has the following restrictions: When in this state, Xilonen’s Nightsoul points have a 9s time limit. After this limit passes, her Nightsoul points will immediately expire.

After Xilonen’s Nightsoul points have expired while she is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, she will no longer be able to generate Nightsoul points via the Passive Talent “Netotiliztli’s Echoes.”

Xilonen’s Skill grants her 3 Samplers that start as Geo and change based on the Elements of her teammates; each Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo teammate changes 1 Sampler to their corresponding Element. Note that duplicate Elements still provide unique Samplers (e.g., 2 Pyro teammates means 2 Pyro Samplers).

When her Skill is used, Xilonen enters the Nightsoul’s Blessing state with 45 Nightsoul points and a max of 90 Nightsoul points. During her Nightsoul’s Blessing state, any Geo Samplers will be active, reducing the enemies’ Geo RES by up to 36% (at C0). Using her A1 Passive, Xilonen can get Nightsoul points with her Normal or Plunging Attacks at a rate of 35 Nightsoul points each. When her Nightsoul points reach the maximum of 90 (so after 2 Normal / Plunging Attacks), she will activate her Samplers, reducing enemies’ RES to the corresponding Elements by up to 36% (at C0) for 15s.

Elemental Burst
Elemental Burst | Ocelotlicue Point!

Activates the Phlogiston Stereo DJ Controller (Portable) at full power, dealing Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG based on Xilonen’s DEF.

Additionally, she will trigger the following effects based on her different Source Samples:

  • If she has at least 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, Xilonen will play an Ebullient rhythm, healing nearby active characters at intervals based on her DEF.
  • If she has fewer than 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, Xilonen will start up an Ardent rhythm, which will play two additional beats that deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG based on her DEF.

Xilonen’s Burst has 2 distinct effects depending on the Elements of her Samplers. It will first deal Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG. Then, if at least 2 Samplers are non-Geo (that is, if there are at least 2 Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo teammates), she will trigger a healing-over-time effect that lasts for 12s and heals the active character every 1.5s. Otherwise, her Burst will deal 2 additional Nightsoul-aligned AoE Geo DMG hits.

Ascension 1 Passive
Ascension 1 Passive | Netotiliztli’s Echoes

While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state:

  • If Xilonen has at least 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, she gains 35 Nightsoul points when her Normal or Plunging Attacks hit opponents. Can be triggered once every 0.1s.
  • If Xilonen has fewer than 2 Source Samples that have had their Elemental Types changed, her Normal and Plunging Attacks deal 30% increased DMG.

Xilonen’s A1 Passive is what allows her RES Shred to persist after her Nightsoul’s Blessing state ends. While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, if she has at least 2 non-Geo Samplers, she will gain 35 Nightsoul points when her Normal or Plunging Attacks hit enemies. Otherwise, she will gain a 30% Normal and Plunging Attack DMG Bonus.

Ascension 4 Passive
Ascension 4 Passive | Name

This passive not only increases Xilonen’s healing through a 20% DEF increase, but also triggers an additional “fake” Nightsoul Burst. This is beneficial because this Nightsoul Burst can trigger effects such as 2pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City’s effect or Mualani’s A4 Passive, granting more Energy or an additional stack of Wavechaser’s Exploits, respectively.

Ascension 4 Passive | Portable Armored Sheath

While in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, when Xilonen’s Nightsoul points reach the maximum, she will trigger an effect equal to that of her Nightsoul Burst. This effect can be triggered once every 14s.
Additionally, when nearby party members trigger a Nightsoul Burst, Xilonen’s DEF is increased by 20% for 15s.

Night Realm’s Gift
Ascension 4 Passive | Name

This is beneficial because this Nightsoul Burst can trigger effects such as 2pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City’s effect or Mualani’s A4 Passive, granting more Energy or an additional stack of Wavechaser’s Exploits, respectively.

Night Realm’s Gift | Blessing of Forge-Fire

After her Nightsoul points are fully depleted, Xilonen will switch to consuming Phlogiston to maintain her Nightsoul’s Blessing.
While in an area with Phlogiston Mechanics within Natlan, she can use Nightsoul Transmission: Xilonen. When the active character is currently sprinting, climbing, in a movement mode caused by certain Talents, or at a certain height in the air, the following will trigger when switching to Xilonen: Xilonen will enter the Nightsoul’s Blessing state and gain 20 Nightsoul points. In this situation, Xilonen’s Nightsoul points have a 4s time limit, after which her Nightsoul points will immediately expire. After she uses Yohual’s Scratch within this time limit, her Nightsoul point time limit will be extended by 9s. Nightsoul Transmission can be triggered once every 10s by your own team.

Additionally, while in Natlan, Xilonen will not consume Stamina when climbing while in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state.

The standard exploration Talent every Natlan character has, which lets them consume Phlogiston when they run out of Nightsoul points in Natlan to extend their Nightsoul state.

Constellations

Constellation 1
Constellation 1 | Sabbatical Phrase

Xilonen’s Nightsoul point and Phlogiston consumption in her Nightsoul’s Blessing state is decreased by 30%, and her Nightsoul point time limit is extended by 45%.
Additionally, when Xilonen’s Source Samples are active, she can also increase nearby active characters’ interruption resistance.

Along with overworld quality of life, this Constellation provides interruption resistance equal to that of Beidou’s Elemental Burst and Hu Tao’s Elemental Skill for the active character while Xilonen’s Samplers are active.

Constellation 2
Constellation 2 | Chiucue Mix

Xilonen’s Geo Source Sample will always remain active. Additionally, when her Source Samples activate, all nearby party members will gain effects corresponding to the active Source Sample that matches their Elemental Type:
Geo: DMG +50%.
Pyro: ATK +45%.
Hydro: Max HP +45%.
Cryo: CRIT DMG +60%.
Electro: Restore 25 Energy, decrease Elemental Burst CD by 6s.

This Constellation allows Xilonen to shred Geo RES at all times, even without using her Skill, allowing her to support Geo damage dealers in Triple Geo teams (or Double Geo teams with Xianyun). It also provides a different buff to each teammate depending on their Element. Note that each buff is only given to characters matching the Element, not teamwide. The Electro buff is not particularly impactful as most Electro damage dealers already build low ER and can’t make use of the Burst CD reduction.

Constellation 3
Constellation 3 | Tonalpohualli’s Loop

Increases the Level of Yohual’s Scratch by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Talent levels for Xilonen’s Skill, increasing its RES Shred to up to 45% (at TL13).

Constellation 4
Constellation 4 | Suchitl’s Trance

After Xilonen uses Yohual’s Scratch, she will grant all nearby party members the Blooming Blessing effect for 15s.
Characters with Blooming Blessing deal 65% of Xilonen’s DEF as increased Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack DMG. This effect will be removed after triggering 6 times or when the duration ends.
When you hit more than one opponent, trigger counts will be consumed based on the number of opponents hit. The counts for each party member with Blooming Blessing are counted independently.

Provides each team member with an Additive Base DMG Bonus to Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attacks after using her Skill that expires after 6 triggers or 15s. This DMG Bonus scales with Xilonen’s DEF and does not have a cap, and the trigger limit is counted independently for each party member.

Constellation 5
Constellation 5 | Tlaltecuhtli’s Crossfadeame

Increases the Level of Ocelotlicue Point! by 3.
Maximum upgrade level is 15.

Talent levels for Xilonen’s Burst. The extra healing is largely unnecessary, so this is only a stepping stone to her C6.

Constellation 6
Constellation 6 | Imperishable Night Carnival

When Xilonen is in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state, when she sprints, leaps, or uses Normal or Plunging Attacks, she will gain Imperishable Night’s Blessing, ignoring the limitations of her Nightsoul’s Blessing state and increasing the DMG dealt by her Normal and Plunging Attacks for 5s.
During this time:
– Her Nightsoul’s Blessing time limit countdown will be paused. Xilonen’s Nightsoul points, Phlogiston, and Stamina will not decrease, and when her Nightsoul points reach the maximum, her Nightsoul’s Blessing state will not end either.
– Xilonen deals 300% of her DEF as increased Normal and Plunging Attack DMG while in the Nightsoul’s Blessing state.
– She heals nearby party members for 120% of her DEF every 1.5s.
She can gain 1 Imperishable Night’s Blessing once every 15s.

This Constellation makes an on-field Xilonen playstyle significantly more competitive by providing her Normal and Plunging Attacks with a large Additive Base DMG Bonus based on her DEF for 5s after entering her Nightsoul’s Blessing state. Stay tuned for Xilonen’s Extended Guide for more details on this playstyle!

Additionally, Xilonen heals all party members every 1.5s during this 5s window, which lets her skip her Burst in teams with 2 or more Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo characters and enables her healing in Triple Geo or Pure Geo teams.

E N2Quickly maxes out Xilonen’s Nightsoul points to activate her RES Shred. Perfect for support Xilonen, since she generally wants to let the team’s damage dealers take the field as fast as possible.
E Q N2
or Q > Team > E N2
If the healing from Xilonen’s Burst is needed, most notably in Furina teams.

Mechanics

Source Samples

Xilonen has 3 Samplers which are Geo by default. For each party member who is Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo,1 Sampler changes to that corresponding Element.

While the Samplers are active, they decrease the corresponding Elemental RES of nearby opponents based on the Elemental Types of your party members, with a maximum reduction of 36% at C0.

Nightsoul

Nightsoul’s Blessing

A special mechanic unique to Natlan characters that increases their mobility and combat ability. Nightsoul’s Blessing can be used in or out of combat and consumes alternative stamina meters called Nightsoul and Phlogiston points to enhance their damage or to explore.

Nightsoul’s Blessing can also be used to activate artifact set effects, in this case Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City.

Nightsoul Burst

When your team has at least 1 Natlan character, teammates (including non-Natlan characters) can trigger Nightsoul Bursts by dealing Elemental damage to enemies. The more Natlan characters in the team, the more often Nightsoul Bursts can be triggered: the cooldown between triggers is 18s / 12s / 9s in teams with 1 / 2 / 3+ Natlan teammates, respectively. Nightsoul Bursts are used to activate Natlan artifact sets and character Talents.

Artifacts

ER Requirements

Calcs for ER requirements can be found here (last updated for Version 5.4).

Caught SkillFed SkillER Reduced per Favonius Proc
Solo Geo1 Skill170–190%205–250%~30–40%
2 Skills115–125%150–170%~15%
Double Geo1 Skill~150%~175%~30%
2 Skills100–105%115–130%~10%

As Xilonen quickly executes two Normal Attacks after her Skill, she will either catch her particles or feed them to the next teammate, depending on your ping and execution.

When using Favonius Sword, Xilonen will rarely need to build any ER at all. She can skip her Burst if used in teams with shielders or healers, such as Bennett, or when run with self-sustaining DPS units, such as Clorinde.

Calcs also assume Xilonen uses her Burst every rotation, as casting her Burst only when available doesn’t require building any ER.

Use the Energy Recharge Calculator to determine exact requirements for your team and rotation, especially if using a different artifact set.

Artifact Stats

Sands

Goblet

Circlet
Energy Recharge or DEF%DEF%DEF%, CRIT Rate (with Fav) or Healing Bonus

Stat Priority: ER (until requirement) > CRIT Rate (if using Favonius) > DEF% (until 3200 DEF, if using signature) > Flat DEF

Xilonen is incredibly easy to build when played as a support. Her high healing makes anything beyond 1 DEF% main stat unnecessary, and there is no need to farm a Healing Bonus Circlet or chase DEF% substats. There is also no point in building for Xilonen’s personal damage. Even with her signature weapon, she only needs 1 DEF% main stat and around 9 median-roll DEF% substats, or 2 DEF% main stats and zero substats, to reach the 3200 DEF cap (at Level 80/90).

Instead, you are better off spending your Resin on the team’s DPS units once Xilonen has a 4pc set with correct main stats and the bare minimum for substats (enough ER if you frequently use her Burst for healing, and CRIT Rate to reliably trigger Fav).

Artifact Sets

4pc Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City
Xilonen’s best artifact set by far. It provides a significant 40% DMG Bonus team buff that is far beyond any alternatives, as well as reducing her ER requirements with its 2pc effect which is amplified by her A4 Passive’s “fake” Nightsoul Burst.

All artifact sets listed below are strictly worse than Scroll of the Hero of Cinder City. Xilonen can run one of them if there is another 4pc Scroll holder on your team. The below sets can be used when it would be impossible to trigger the desired reaction for 4pc Scroll. However, with careful rotation setups, this is unlikely to be an issue.

4pc Archaic Petra
Archaic Petra offers a similar amount of DMG Bonus to 4pc Scroll. However, it has a worse trigger condition and half the buff duration.

Xilonen enables her teammates to equip this set; they can take the field after her and pick up the Elemental Shard she creates to buff the corresponding Element even further. In teams with another Scroll holder, either her or that teammate can opt to hold this set.

4pc Instructor
Instructor’s 120 EM buff is valuable for DPS units that use Amplifying or Additive Reactions. However, it has a short 8s uptime.

4pc Noblesse Oblige
Noblesse is an alternative for teams with ATK-scaling DPS units. This set forces Xilonen to use her Burst to activate its 4pc effect, which may not be ideal in some teams.

Weapons

Peak Patrol Song (5★)
Xilonen’s signature weapon and general Best-in-Slot. It provides a valuable and easy-to-stack DMG Bonus to further increase her supportive capabilities. Its passive cap is also very easy to max out, with a DEF% main stat and a few DEF% substats being enough for a Lv. 80/90 Xilonen.

Favonius Sword (4★)
Xilonen’s second-best option overall. She has an easy time activating its passive as she can build CRIT Rate without sacrificing much, plus she deals multiple hits during her field time. Favonius Sword also conveniently takes care of Xilonen’s ER requirements in most teams. Favonius is still valuable even if Xilonen doesn’t need the ER as it helps with the whole team’s ER requirements.

Freedom-Sworn (5★)
Freedom-Sworn is an option for teams that benefit from the Normal, Charged, and Plunging Attack buff. However, the buff requires either forcing Xilonen’s Burst or slightly delaying her Normal Attacks to trigger 2 Crystallizes for its passive.

Xiphos’ Moonlight (4★)
While Xilonen does not usually build EM, her low build requirements mean she can opt for an EM build with this weapon to support the team. While not spectacular, this weapon is better than nothing.
Any ER / DEF% Sword That is Already Leveled and Not in UseSkyward Blade (5★), Sacrificial Sword (4★), Sapwood Blade (4★), Cinnabar Spindle (4★), Festering Desire (4★), Fleuve Cendre Ferryman (4★)

If Favonius Sword is unavailable, any already leveled ER Sword is usable as a placeholder. DEF% Swords can also be used as they increase Xilonen’s healing, but this is generally less valuable than reaching her ER requirements more easily.

Skyrider Sword (3★)
A cheap alternative, accessible to both older and newer players. The ER secondary stat is helpful for reaching Xilonen’s ER requirements but less useful than DEF% otherwise.

Skyrider Sword takes less resources to level than a 4-star or 5-star Sword, but it still has a relatively high ER secondary stat (only <10% below Sacrificial Sword). It can also conveniently be foddered into a future Favonius.

Flute of Ezpitzal (4★)
Another cheap alternative, and a good option if Xilonen’s ER requirements are low. Flute of Ezpitzal is free and has a DEF% secondary stat to increase Xilonen’s healing. You can even get away with not leveling it, since it already provides 31% DEF at Level 1.

This weapon is an acceptable placeholder if there is no available Favonius Sword and Xilonen has no need for extra ER%.

Any Other Sword
If no weapon with a useful passive is available — nor any weapon with a usable secondary stat — Xilonen can equip whatever unused Sword is lying around (Dull Blade included).

Teambuilding

Generalist Geo Support

Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo DPS — Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo — Support / Flex — Xilonen

Xilonen is a flexible buffer and can slot into a wide variety of teams across all playstyles. Her role in the team is similar to that of a 4pc Viridescent Venerer support, with 4pc Scroll’s hefty DMG Bonus on top. Her healing also provides sustain; this role consolidation frees up a team slot for an extra support or DPS, further increasing team damage.

Notable Synergies

The list of units Xilonen synergizes with is a mile long; this section only highlights the most notable ones. Even if a unit is not included, as long as they are Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo (and not mentioned in the anti-synergies section below), chances are Xilonen has at least decent synergy with them.

Hydro
Pyro
Electro
Cryo
Geo
Anemo
Dendro

Hydro

Hydro units often scale with HP and thus have access to far fewer buffers than ATK-scaling units. As such, Xilonen is an especially synergistic teammate thanks to her RES Shred and DMG Bonus.

Furina
The fact that Xilonen is a healer creates natural synergy with Furina, who actively needs a healer. Despite Xilonen’s healing being only for the active character, it is good enough to decently stack Fanfare while providing the rest of her benefits (RES Shred, 4pc Scroll).

Neuvillette
Neuvillette appreciates Xilonen’s Hydro RES Shred, DMG Bonus, and her ability to seamlessly slot into any of his teams. In his teams with Furina, Xilonen also helps stack Fanfare faster.

Since Neuvillette usually uses his Skill at the start of the rotation, Xilonen can easily trigger 4pc Scroll for the Hydro DMG Bonus.

Mualani
Mualani highly values Xilonen’s buffs and their long duration compared to other buffs which usually don’t cover all of her hits.

Xilonen’s A4 also provides Mualani with an additional stack of her A4’s Wavechaser’s Exploits to further increase her Burst’s damage.

Yelan

Xingqiu

Ayato

Pyro

Xilonen is another great buffer for Pyro damage dealers. Her RES Shred also conveniently doesn’t require complicated setups; she can shred Pyro RES where it would otherwise be impossible. However, she can have issues activating 4pc Scroll in some Vaporize teams.

Bennett
Despite Xilonen and Bennett both being healers, they can be played together with no problem as they each provide distinct and powerful buffs — a large Flat ATK buff in Bennett’s case. He can also battery any of the Pyro damage dealers on the team.

Mavuika
On top of her buffs, Xilonen’s Nightsoul point consumption is extremely valuable for batterying Mavuika’s Burst. She is a potent support for Mavuika’s on-field teams, and they can also form a strong supportive duo together.

Arlecchino
Arlecchino is a powerful carry unit and appreciates strong buffers to maximize her DPS, Xilonen included. Since she starts her rotations with her Skill, ensuring Pyro 4pc Scroll is also easier.

Note that Arlecchino is unable to receive any healing from Xilonen.

Lyney
Since Lyney is a ranged Bow user, the loss of, say, Zhongli’s shield is more noticeable. As such, Xilonen is a high-risk, high-reward teammate for him, unless she is paired with a shielder.

Hu Tao
Xilonen enables Hu Tao to play Double Hydro teams without losing out on Pyro RES Shred unlike her other Double Hydro teams. Xilonen’s Burst can be skipped if Hu Tao is not playing with Furina to keep her below 50% HP for her A4 Passive.

Xiangling
In teams where Xiangling is used solely for her Pyro application (e.g., Mualani teams), she can use 2pc Scroll with Xilonen to have significantly reduced ER requirements thanks to Xilonen’s “fake” Nightsoul Burst proccing the 2pc effect.

Yoimiya

Klee

Gaming

Electro

Xilonen can increase the damage output of Electro characters, particularly in Aggravate and Electro-Charged teams. She can also be played in Quickbloom, though team slots in that archetype are more contested.

Clorinde

Yae Miko

Beidou

Raiden

Sethos

Fischl

Cryo

Xilonen is a great pick for Freeze teams with Furina, but she has less synergy with Freeze outside of those teams because of Freeze teams’ restrictive teambuilding. Instead, she synergizes more with Melt and Mono Cryo teams; she can shred Cryo RES in Melt teams where 4pc Viridescent Venerer holders would struggle, and she is a solid buffer for Mono Cryo. Although only one of Citlali or Xilonen can hold 4pc Scroll, they are still a strong supportive duo, especially for Melt teams.

Geo

Navia
Xilonen is a great fit in Navia teams, providing Geo Particles, Geo RES Shred, and DMG Bonus. However, due to Xilonen’s lack of off-field Geo application, Navia will need to rely more on herself to generate Elemental Shards.

Chiori
Chiori and Xilonen form a strong core that can be slotted into many teams. Unlike a Chiori–Zhongli core, Xilonen does not enable Chiori’s second doll but compensates with strong buffs.

Itto
Although Itto typically prefers Mono Geo teams, he can be played in a Double Geo team with Xilonen and 2 Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo off-field damage dealers to benefit from Xilonen’s strong (de)buffs.

Zhongli

Albedo

Yun Jin

Noelle

Anemo

Although Xilonen doesn’t buff Anemo units, she can still pair with an Anemo support holding 4pc Viridescent Venerer to buff the team’s damage output together.

Chasca

Chasca’s unique absorption mechanics make her a strong beneficiary for Xilonen’s buffs; however, since Xilonen is not a Pyro, Hydro, Electro, or Cryo character, Chasca loses out on her A1 Passive and Burst and Skill infusions before pulling Chasca’s C1 and C2.

Kazuha
While Xilonen and Kazuha may seem to overlap in their roles, as both offer RES Shred and DMG Bonuses, they can still be paired together to buff a DPS unit.

Sucrose

Lynette

Venti

Heizou

Dendro

Similar to Anemo units, Xilonen is unable to buff Dendro units. Instead they both work together to support the team’s damage dealers.

Notable Anti-Synergies

Although Xilonen has great synergy with a wide variety of teams and teammates, she still has some anti-synergies.

Physical Carries
Eula, Freminet

Neither Xilonen nor 4pc Scroll has any way to buff Physical damage. This makes her a poor option for Physical teams, and they are better off running Physical buffers or units that can enable Superconduct.

Mono Anemo Carries
Xiao, Wanderer

Xilonen is unable to shred Anemo RES or react with Anemo to trigger 4pc Scroll.

Healers
Jean, Sigewinne, Charlotte, Sayu, Dori, Mika, etc.

There is no point in running a second healer if they do not provide additional buffs when Xilonen already comfortably keeps the team alive. Instead it’s better to slot in more buffers or damage dealers.

Dendro Carries
Alhaitham or Tighnari (outside of Double Electro teams), Kinich

Xilonen has no way to buff Dendro damage dealers; she can neither shred Dendro RES, nor react with Dendro to buff a Dendro DPS with 4pc Scroll. As such, Dendro carries are better off running units that can directly increase their damage.

Example Teams

This is not a comprehensive list of teams. The inclusion or exclusion of any given team does not necessarily reflect its power level.

“Mono Element” Teams

Neuvillette — Furina — Mavuika / Lynette / Kazuha — Xilonen

Neuvillette’s standard hypercarry team with Xilonen as a more offensive alternative to Zhongli, trading a comfortable shield for stronger buffs. Both Kazuha and Lynette provide RES Shred through 4pc VV while Mavuika provides personal damage and some DMG Bonus. Lynette is a decent substitute for players lacking Kazuha, especially since her Burst’s Taunt helps Neuvillette perform his Charged Attacks in peace.

Getting interrupted is also, of course, a non-issue with C1 Neuvillette.

Sample Rotation (Kazuha)
Neuvillette E > Furina ED N1 > Xilonen EQ N2 > Kazuha tEPQ > Furina Q > Neuvillette C E C Q > Xilonen E N2 > Kazuha tEP > Neuvillette 2[C]

Sample Rotation (Lynette)
Neuvillette E > Furina ED N1 > Xilonen EQ N2 > Lynette E N1 Q > Furina Q > Neuvillette C E C Q > Xilonen E N2 > Lynette E N1 > Neuvillette 2[C]

Sample Rotation (Mavuika)
Neuvillette E > Furina ED > Xilonen EQ N2 > Furina Q > Mavuika Q N1 E > Neuvillette C E C Q > Xilonen E N2 > Neuvillette 2[C]

Arlecchino — Bennett — Kazuha / Zhongli — Xilonen

A powerful Mono Pyro team built around maximizing Arlecchino’s damage by stacking buffs. Note that there is no point in using Xilonen’s Burst since Arlecchino cannot be healed.

Although Kazuha’s DMG Bonus and the RES Shred from 4pc Viridescent Venerer are solid buffs to Arlecchino’s damage, she can afford to trade some DPS and run Zhongli for his comfortable shield instead.

Sample Rotation (Kazuha)
Arlecchino E > Bennett EQ > Xilonen E N2 > Kazuha Q/tEP¹ > Arlecchino C Combo

¹Use Kazuha’s Burst if available, otherwise use his Skill.

Sample Rotation (Zhongli)
Arlecchino E > Bennett EQ > Xilonen E N2 > Zhongli hED N1 > Arlecchino C Combo

Lyney — Bennett — Zhongli / Chiori — Xilonen

Another strong Mono Pyro team, with Lyney as the on-field damage dealer.

Zhongli is a comfortable pick with some buffs, while Chiori trades that for solid personal damage. This team also makes great use of Chiori’s C1, for those lucky enough to have it.

Sample Rotation (Zhongli)
Lyney C > Zhongli hED N1 > Bennett EQ > Xilonen E N2 > Lyney 3[C] QE¹/C² E

¹Cancel Lyney’s Burst with his Skill after colliding with enemies.
²You can substitute Lyney’s Burst with an additional Charged Shot if his Burst is unavailable.

Sample Rotation (Chiori)
Lyney C > Xilonen E N2 > Chiori 2[E] > Bennett EQ > Lyney 4[C] QE¹/C² E

¹Cancel Lyney’s Burst with his Skill after colliding with enemies.
²You can substitute Lyney’s Burst with an additional Charged Shot if his Burst is unavailable.

Wriothesley — Shenhe — Chiori — Xilonen

Xilonen can slot into Wriothesley’s Mono Cryo teams to boost his damage output together with buffers like Shenhe.

Chiori deals off-field damage — which Xilonen also buffs — and enables Geo Resonance for some extra DMG Bonus as long as the Crystallize shield stays intact. This team also makes good use of Chiori’s C1, for those lucky enough to have it.

Sample Rotation
(Wriothesley N1)¹ > Chiori 2[E] > Xilonen E N2 > Shenhe hE Q > Wriothesley E Combo (Q)²

¹First rotation only.
²Use Wriothesley’s Burst if available, otherwise do an additional N3C.

Ayato — Furina — Kazuha / Yelan — Xilonen

Xilonen is a solid pick for Ayato’s Mono Hydro teams as she consolidates both healing and buffs. This role consolidation is especially valuable here since Ayato has no way to stack Furina’s Fanfare and would otherwise have to trade a buffer for a healer.

Sample Rotation (Kazuha)
Xilonen Q > Furina ED N1 Q > Xilonen E N2 > Kazuha tEP > Ayato E N15 Q > Xilonen E N2 > Kazuha hEP > Ayato E N15

Sample Rotation (Yelan)
Xilonen Q > Furina ED Q > Yelan Q N1 E N1 > Xilonen E N2 > Ayato E N15 Q > Xilonen N1 E N2 > Yelan N1 E N1 > Ayato E N15

Vaporize / Melt Teams

Mualani — Xiangling — Sucrose / Kazuha — Xilonen

Mualani, who scales with HP, has limited access to buffs that boost her damage, so she greatly appreciates Xilonen. She is also a Hydro Catalyst unit and, as such, can easily set up for Hydro Scroll.

Sample Rotation (Kazuha)
Mualani N1 > Kazuha tEP > Xilonen EQ N2 > Xiangling Q E > Mualani E Combo Q N1 > Kazuha tEP > Xilonen E N2 > Xiangling E > Kazuha Q > Mualani E Combo

Sample Rotation (Sucrose)
(Mualani N1) > Sucrose ED > Xilonen EQ N2 > Xiangling Q E > Mualani E Combo Q N1 > Sucrose E > Xilonen E N2 > Xiangling E > Sucrose Q > Mualani E Combo

Mavuika — Bennett — Citlali / Furina — Xilonen

Xilonen is an extremely potent support for Mavuika. On top of her buffs, her Nightsoul point consumption is essential for batterying Mavuika’s Burst. Since Xilonen consumes Nightsoul points extremely quickly, she is especially valuable when your rotation is cut short, such as between chambers.

Sample Rotation (Ciltali)
Mavuika tE > Xilonen E N2 > Bennett EQ > Citlali EQ > Mavuika Q Melt combo

Sample Rotation (Furina)
Mavuika tE > Xilonen E N2 Q > Furina ED Q > Bennett EQ > Xilonen E1 N2 > Mavuika Q Vape combo

1Add an N1 on Furina or Bennett (if C6, after using his Burst) if Xilonen’s second E is on cooldown.

Hu Tao — Furina / Xingqiu — Yelan — Xilonen

A variant of Hu Tao’s Double Hydro team with Xilonen for extra buffing. Xilonen is an especially strong pick for teams with Furina, since her inclusion means that the team doesn’t have to trade buffs for healing to stack Fanfare. Note that it is near impossible to get Pyro Scroll in this team.

Since Hu Tao does not want healing, Xilonen’s Burst can be skipped as long as players are comfortable with only Xingqiu’s damage mitigation. With Furina, the Burst is necessary for stacking Fanfare.

Sample Rotation (Furina)
Xilonen Q > Furina ED Q > Xilonen E N2 > Yelan Q N1 E N1 > Hu Tao E Combo > Yelan E combo1

¹Use Normal Attacks for as long as it takes to catch particles.

Sample Rotation (Xingqiu)
(Xilonen Q)1 > Xingqiu Q N1 > Xilonen E N2 > Yelan Q N1 > Xingqiu ED N2 > Yelan E N2 > Hu Tao E Combo > Yelan E

¹Only use Xilonen’s Burst if her healing is needed.

Neuvillette — Xiangling — Kazuha / Emilie / Lynette — Xilonen

Neuvillette’s Vaporize teams are competitive with his hypercarry teams — and Xilonen further boosts their damage. Her near-unconditional RES Shred is especially valuable in a Burnvape team. The team’s flex unit can provide buffs (e.g., an Anemo support) or personal damage (e.g., Emilie).

Note that Xiangling’s range forces Neuvillette closer to enemies; although stronger, this Vaporize variant can be more difficult to play with C0 Neuvillette compared to his Vaporize teams with Zhongli.

Sample Rotation (Kazuha)
Neuvillette E N1 > Xilonen E N2 > Kazuha tEP > Xiangling Q E > Neuvillette C Q E C > Xilonen E N2 > Xiangling N2 ED > Kazuha (Q) tEP > Neuvillette 2[C]

Sample Rotation (Emilie)
Neuvillette E N4¹ > Xilonen E N2 > Emilie N1 E > Xiangling Q ED> Neuvillette C Q E C > Xilonen E N2 > Xiangling N2 E > Neuvillette 2[C]

¹Use Normal Attacks to catch Neuvillette’s Skill particles and remove any lingering Dendro aura, creating a Hydro aura for Xilonen to proc 4pc Scroll.

Sample Rotation (Lynette)
Neuvillette E N1 > Xilonen E N2 > Lynette E N1 > Xiangling Q E > Neuvillette C Q E C > Xilonen E N2 > Xiangling N2 ED > Lynette EQ > Neuvillette 2[C]

Wriothesley — Bennett — Xiangling — Xilonen

Xilonen can slot into Wriothesley’s Melt teams to shred Cryo RES where Anemo units would struggle (or have poor uptime). The high Pyro application from Xiangling makes it difficult to trigger Cryo Swirl, so Xilonen’s near-unconditional RES Shred is especially valuable here.

Similarly, the long duration of 4pc Scroll’s DMG Bonus compared to other buffs is convenient since it can only be triggered at the start of each rotation.

Sample Rotation
(Wriothesley N1)¹ > Xilonen E N2 > Bennett Q E > Xiangling Q E > Wriothesley E Combo (Q)²

¹First rotation only.
²Use Wriothesley’s Burst if available.

Gaming — Bennett — Furina — Xilonen

Xilonen’s long-lasting buffs are well suited for Gaming’s long field time. She can trigger a Pyro Crystallize for Scroll by going right after Bennett, who clears Furina’s Hydro application.

Sample Rotation
Furina ED Q > Bennett Q E (N1)1 > Xilonen E N2 > Gaming Combo

1Use a Normal Attack here if Bennett is C6 for greater Pyro Crystallize reliability.

Freeze Teams

Ayaka — Furina — Shenhe — Xilonen

Xilonen is a great healer option in Freeze teams with Furina, which would otherwise have to swap a buffer for a healer. She provides similar buffs to Kazuha, while also stacking Fanfare at a rate not much slower than Charlotte. However, she lacks grouping, which Freeze teams and especially Ayaka value very highly.

Sample Rotation
Xilonen Q > Furina E Q > Shenhe tEQ > Xilonen E N2 > Ayaka ED Q N2CD N2C >  Shenhe tE N2 > Xilonen E N2 > Ayaka D N2C E N2C

Wriothesley — Furina — Yelan / Shenhe — Xilonen

Similar to the Ayaka variant, Xilonen slots into Wriothesley’s Freeze teams with Furina to provide both buffs and healing to stack Fanfare. Yelan offers a ramping DMG Bonus and off-field damage, while Shenhe offers more buffs.

Sample Rotation (Yelan)
Xilonen Q > Furina E N1 Q > Xilonen E N2 > Yelan EQ N1 > Wriothesley E Combo (Q)¹ > (Yelan E N3)²

¹Use Wriothesley’s Burst if available.
²Optionally use a second Yelan Skill for more Energy.

Sample Rotation (Shenhe)
Xilonen Q > Furina E N1 Q > Shenhe hE N1 Q > Xilonen E N2 > Wriothesley E Combo (Q)¹

¹Use Wriothesley’s Burst if available.

Aggravate / Quickbloom Teams

Clorinde — Fischl — Kirara / Nahida — Xilonen

Both Clorinde and Fischl deal significant damage and thus appreciate Xilonen’s buffs. Kirara offers interruption resistance and, at C6, a DMG Bonus, while Nahida offers more personal damage and her Burst’s EM buff.

Since Clorinde has plenty of self-sustain, Xilonen can skip her Burst entirely even in the Nahida variant, or save it as a panic button for emergencies.

Sample Rotation (Kirara)
Fischl N1 E or N2 Q¹ > Xilonen E N2 Q > Kirara shE² > Clorinde E Combo Q

¹Use Fischl’s Skill if available; otherwise, cast her Burst.
²Use Kirara’s Short Hold Skill for better shield and particle generation.

Sample Rotation (Nahida)
(Fischl E)¹ > Xilonen E(Q) N2 > Nahida E Q N1 > Fischl N1 E or N2 Q² > Clorinde E Combo Q

¹First rotation only.
²Use Fischl’s Skill if available; otherwise, cast her Burst.

Cyno — Furina / Fischl — Nahida — Xilonen

Xilonen can slot in as a more offensive alternative to Zhongli or Baizhu in Cyno’s Dendro teams, at the price of the comfort of interruption resistance. She offers strong buffs, and the long duration of both her RES Shred and 4pc Scroll’s DMG Bonus matches well with Cyno’s long field time.

Sample Rotation (Furina)
(Cyno E)¹ > Xilonen EQ N2 > Furina ED Q > Nahida E Q > Cyno EQ Combo

¹First rotation only.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)
Fischl N1 E > Xilonen EQ N2 > Nahida E Q N1 > Fischl N2 Q > Cyno EQ Combo

Geo Teams

Navia — Fischl / Furina / Xiangling — Bennett — Xilonen

Xilonen easily slots into Navia’s teams to further increase their damage output, especially Navia’s popular Double Geo variants. She is a strong buffer for Navia and synergizes well since they both want Pyro / Hydro / Electro / Cryo teammates — Xilonen to activate her Samples, Navia to stack Crystal Shrapnel.

Although Xilonen’s healing is redundant with Bennett, it’s still worth using her Burst with Furina to stack Fanfare faster.

Sample Rotation (Fischl)
(Fischl E)¹ > Xilonen E N2 > Navia Q > Bennett EQ > Fischl N1 E or N2 Q² > Navia hE N3D N2 > Xilonen E N2 > Navia hE N3D N2

¹First rotation only.
²Use Fischl’s Skill if available; cast her Burst otherwise.

Sample Rotation (Furina)
Xilonen Q > Furina ED N1 Q > Xilonen E N2 > Navia Q > Bennett EQ > Navia hE N3D N2 > Xilonen E N2 > Navia hE N4

Sample Rotation (Xiangling)
(Bennett E)¹ > Xilonen E N2 > Navia Q > Bennett Q E > Xiangling Q E > Navia hE N3D N2 > Xilonen E N2 > Navia hE N3D N2 > Bennett E N1 > Xiangling N2

¹First rotation only.

Noelle — Furina — Yelan — Xilonen

Xilonen elevates Noelle Double Hydro teams by buffing both the off-field Hydro units and Noelle. Although her healing is redundant, her buffs still make her more than worth running.

Sample Rotation
Furina ED Q > Xilonen E N2 > Yelan Q N1 E N1 > Noelle E Q N3 > Xilonen E N2 > Noelle Combo > Yelan E N1 > Noelle Combo
